For most of us, summer has offered a welcome opportunity to crack that long-anticipated book — or to devour several, perhaps outside, far removed from the daily grind. We get it. Many in our business network probably don’t realize it, but Grand Rapids Label comes from a literary heritage.
As a family venture, we got our feet wet in the printing business all the way back in the late-19th century. Back then, we were known as Seymour and Muir. We changed our name to Grand Rapids Label in 1901. Over those early decades, we actually produced everything from books to Scottish poetry to Pennsylvania Railroad schedules, as well as posters promoting figures as renowned as Harry Houdini.
The country experienced rapid growth and transformation during this period — and we take pride in contributing our chapter to its story. It’s part of the reason we are so bullish on promoting our heritage and family businesses in general. They are the foundational element that fueled our country’s unique development.
That same ethic extends to the way we approach our employees. We treat them like family because our approach to business is personal. We don’t know any other way. So whether you have done business with Grand Rapids Label forever or you have been referred to us for labeling solutions for the very first time, know that we approach every job with passion and pride.
